We have decided to enter the world of blogging in order to share with family and friends our journey to becoming a family of five. We are in the process of an international adoption and are very excited to share updates along this journey.

Some Cute Photos to Share
I finally got around to copying photos from our camera to the laptop so I thought I would post a few that were taken in the last few days. One is Rachel posing next to her new betta fish, Roundy (so named because he swam around and around in the container at the store). She is very excited and proud of her first pet and is taking good care of him!
Chun Le went to the doctor today because she had this spot on the back of her scalp that looked like one huge zit--lovely image, huh? I noticed it there since late last week and called the pediatrician office this morning and they wanted to take a look at it. The doctor said it is just an infected "cyst" right below the surface of the skin--maybe due to the many bug bites that were in that area when we brought her home from China--she scratches that area and that one spot must have gotten infected. She also checked her ears and noticed that she still has redness and fluid in there so probably another ear infection. I was kind of surprised about that since she had just been off the antibiotic for the ear infection diagnosed on Dec 27th. This one must not be very painful as she had not been showing any signs of pain or discomfort. The doctor we saw today said that she will likely have many ear infections until her palate gets closed surgically since it is so wide open and leaves the ear canals exposed. So they put her back on antibiotics for two weeks this time to help with the ear infection and the "cyst". Thankfully Chun Le actually enjoys taking her antibiotics...the flavor must be something she likes!
One thing Chun Le started doing regularly this past week is giving hugs. If we ask her to go give a hug to Rachel or Isaac or grandma/grandpa or a friend visiting, she knows what to do right away. She will go over to the person with outstretched arms and leans in to them with her face and also usually pats them on the back with her hands as she hugs. Very cute! Another new thing she has started doing is vacuuming up crumbs with the dust buster after meals. She had watched us do this day after day and decided it was a job she likes to help out with. It is a job right up here alley since she is always finding crumbs, lint, whatever on the ground and takes it to the garbage can. :)
