We had sent off our care package and were waiting to hear from Ann of Red Thread China to find out if she got any response from our daughter's orphanage. We were actually out of town on a family vacation checking email from the hotel lobby each morning. Just as we were checking out right before 11:00am on Thursday, June 16th we received an email from Ann! The nannies in CL's orphange responded to our questions, provided updated height/weight/head/chest/foot measurements, and took 9 new pictures of her that were emailed to us!!! What a wonderful surprise it was to get these! I am not sure yet if we can post her pictures so I won't do so until I find out from our agency if it is OK. CL is getting bigger (of course) and has less of a "baby look" about her. The other neat thing is that she is standing up in a few of the pictures very steadily so we are assuming she is walking on her own now! She has quite a few bumps on her face that look like she is getting lots of mosquito bites. That would not surprise us though as she does live in the very southern part of China where it is hot and humid right now. We also learned earlier that her orphange is near a river so it is probably a breeding ground for those mosquitoes who seem to like our sweet daughter. :)
Here are a couple of the questions with responses that we got from the orphanage staff:
1. Who chose her name and why?
The orphanage staff picked her name out for her !
Because the orphanage staff wish her healthy and happy ,that was why they picked this name for her !
2. Does she have some favorite foods to eat?
Congee,Fruit sauce ,milk, egg,ect .
5. Is she close to a particular nanny? What is this nanny’s name?
She is very close to three nannies ,their names are :
杨亚秀Yang ya xiu ，张燕霞 zhang yan xia ，陈建萍 chen jian ping
6. How would you describe her personality?
Lovely ,outgoing and she likes to play wit her friends !
